| That is still woefully inadequate. It is a description of the kind you would expect in any strategy document. It's a bit like saying "Tooting is the only town centre in the Borough without a mainline railway station". The fact is it was an afterthought to closing the Museum and saving money. It looks like an after-thought in the agenda of the 7th February Committee, it reads like an after-thought, it was an after-thought. As for what I did or did not say in 2002 and all that jazz, there are really only two things to say. First that was half a decade ago, before the introduction of either Council Tax capping (largely thanks to Wandsworth's budgetary irresponsibility) or the current Revenue Support Grant system - who knows for certain what we would have had to do. I don't know and I am sure you don't. But secondly that there is at least one thing we could learn from you and your party - that is not to bother with a manifesto at all! You appear not to have done so last year and if you had you certainly would not have headlined it with the closure of the Museum! |
