| valerie i understand from further down the thread that you are the museum's first curator. you must be feeling gutted. we have a council that only cares about money - museums and culture count for nothing. what do you think we the wandsworth council taxpayer can do to help keep OUR museum open? i agree with you that the council has its eye on selling off the site for development. any bit of land they can sell off they will do. this council would sell off their own mothers if they thought it would keep them in power! what will happen if the museum does close? where will the artefacts (is that the right word?) go? can we the wandsworth council taxpayer, if we cannot save the museum, see that they are stored somewhere to save them. it is just awful that so many have donated, including those who have wartime memories, for their donations possibly to be discarded by our money grabbing council. give us your advice please. |
