| Malcolm knows full well that we cannot raise outside finance if the Museum does not have a home, which after September it does not appear to have. That is one reason why a Friends iniative hasn't begun either. Why should anyone be expected to pledge money for something that may cease to exist after September 2007? If the WBC were to provide a home (as a decent size entity) somewhere in the borough, as Richmond Council* for example does, the Wandsworth Museum Campaign Group would be able to investigate alternative sources of income with the knowledge that the Museum has a positive future. Incidentally, Malcolm, if you do read this post, has anyone connected with the Museum been asked by council officers for ideas as to how to cut costs ie by asking for voluntary redundancies, or how to generate other sources of income themselves? * for those who haven't visited it, Richmond Museum is very small. |
