| The only "cultural" facility WBC (and every other borough) is compelled to provide is a library service. No doubt the Grim Reaper has already looked at the fine print of the legislation to see what the council can get away with (and Jenni probably only watches TV and therefore objects to paying for people to have facilities to read?). It is interesting that you pointedly mention Roehampton library since WBC proposed alternatives for redevelopment of the centre of Roehampton would involve demolition of the library. I may be wrong but I did not read a word of their intention to replace it in their published proposals. Another hidden agenda? |
