| I think the parking charge revenue effects will be reported to the next Regen and Transport OSC meeting and with therefore be on the council website. I've looked into street lighting and it's not as simple as it looks - the lights are activated by ambient illumination not on a timer so we would need to convert each individual lamp if we wanted to switch off a few after say midnight - this would be much more expensive than what we might save in electricity. However, officers are looking at the possibility of a general dimming - though of course one of the reasons they are so bright is to light up dim corners and so reduce crime and the fear of crime so we will need to do some careful feasibility work. |
