| Mr Hime - may I suggest that, if at all possible, you do try to visit the Museum and spend an hour or more there. See the school visits, speak to the staff about the collection and their outreach programme, ask visitors what they make of the quality of the exhibits, the range of fascinating information on the history of the Borough and the breadth of cultural insights it provides. Take time to appreciate the blend of entertainment and education it provides for all age groups and for all sectors of the community. Look at the quarterly newsletter and the spread of special events and exhibitions. It will soon be evident that the Museum and the services it provides cannot be measured purely by a "bums-on-seats" approach. You will also perhaps appreciate the very strong reaction that greeted Cllr Grimston's proposals from all parts of the community - from schools, from teachers, from parents, from pupils, from long-term residents and recent arrivals. |
