| The building is rather smaller than Putney, Balham or even Tooting libraries, while especially if we infill the void in the Court House we get a lot of floor space (and some storage space for Museum artefacts that might not be suitable for storage in our disused chapels). Plus the Court House is ideally placed right opposite Southside. Part of the great success of Balham, Putney and Tooting libraries is that they are right in the middle of the shopping centres so get a lot of people dropping in when out shopping. West Hill is just that annoying distance up the hill. If the Court House proves unsuitable for a library then we will of course have to rethink. |
