| In order to give readers and the electorate some degree of confidence that his proposals "to enhance access to culture in the Borough" have a solid basis in reality and in professional, informed advice, could Councillor Grimston please answer the following: 1. When did he last visit Wandsworth Museum for any reasonable length of time and how often has he been to the Museum in the last 12 months? 2. When did Peter Brennan, the Director of Leisure & Amenities, last visit Wandsworth Museum for any reasonable length of time and how often has he been to the Museum in the last 12 months? I exclude any visits he might have made to tell the staff that they were all being made redundant. 3. What advice has Councillor Grimston or his Department sought from professional bodies such as the Museum Libraries Archives Council and/or other recognised experts and have such bodies or experts formally endorsed his proposals? 4. What other alternative solutions did Councillor Grimston consider before settling on closure of the Museum as his sole preferred option? |
