| Can Councillor Grimston explain why, if Wandsworth Council is so financially hard-pressed that it must close Wandsworth Museum, it is planning to add £5.4 million to its reserves in 2007/08? (Council paper 07-146) And why, although inflation is allegedly adding £8 million a year to the Council's spending, the Council's own projections show spending rising only from a planned £176 million in 2006/07 to £177 million in 2007/08, an increase of £1 million rather than £8 million? The financial case for closing Wandsworth Museum appears to be entirely bogus. |
