| To be accurate Roland, Martin did not state he would resign if his policy wasn't adopted - he would do so only if the Court House did not become the new Town Centre Library. One can only asume that he must already know that English Heritage will allow the changes he proposes to make to the Grade II listed building or he wouldn't have made so rash a statement? At the end of the day the main purpose of any campaign must be to accentuate the positive (although here, sadly, there are few signs yet) so that we keep the Museum as a single entity within the Borough for the sake of future generations. It is the duty of the Council to ensure the safety, preservation, learning from and enjoyment of this unique collection, built up over the past 20 years. |
