I don't know the answers but would be interested in them. The 2008/9 Heathrow Emission Inventory is available as part of the document pack accompanying the planning application to Hillingdon for the works to end the Cranford Agreement : http://planning.hillingdon.gov.uk/OcellaWeb/viewDocument?file=dv_pl_files\41573_APP_2013_1288\Appendix+H+Heathrow+Airport+Emission+Inventory+2008+2009.pdf It includes the emissions in the landing and take-off cycle below 1000m in its total figures, but only bothers to run the dispersion modelling on emissions below 600m on the grounds that "In practice, the impact on ground-level concentrations per unit emission decreases rapidly with the height of emission, such that aircraft emissions arising once the aircraft is outside the airport perimeter have a much smaller impact on local air quality than those emitted within the perimeter of the airport." For the year 2008/9 538.33t of NOx was attributed to the approach phase below 1000m and the modelling took engine thrusts as being 15% between 1000m and 610m and then 30% of maximum thrust from 610m to touchdown. |
