From memory the correct % of NO2 from buses is 67%, at least as measured by the Council in PHS. It was Mike Weston of TfL Buses who argued that moving the garage would solve nothing or could even make route management worse by creating additional journeys for empty buses needing to be redeployed - depending on where the garage might end up of course. What he was doing, I think, was erecting as many barriers as possible to any move. TfL and the Council has had far more detailed discussions, I understand, but the outcome is the same. Nobody wants to foot what could be a sizeable bill for moving the garage, not TfL, not the franchise operators of the various routes, not the operator which owns the garage (Arriva?) and certainly not the Council. |
