| We will eventually learn if the tighter LEZ limits are making a difference. Getting older vans and taxis off the road must be a positive for anyone who has to breathe London air. Modern engines are much more efficient than older ones which is why the regs changed. But I tend to agree - the tighter limits will not be enough by themselves and we may still see those EU fines heading our way. We did ask the Mayor before the election if he had any plans to tighten the emission limits any further, or introduce an inner LEZ zone, but we were told it would not be "cost effective". |
