| The Greens have created a page on their "how polluted is my road" site : http://www.howpollutedismyroad.org.uk/putney.php which displays the cumulative number of hours which the sensor in Putney High Street has recorded NO2 levels above the EU limit in 2013. It then queries whether cleaning up the Putney bus fleet "has worked". It is good that more attention is being paid to the problem, but I am not sure that the current work to improve the fleet should be slagged off. My own glances at the moving annual average of NO2 levels in Putney show it to be steadily falling in 2013 since January with quite a sharp improvement over recent years. OK, it is nowhere near being "legal" but something seems to have changed. I understand that more analysis of the modified bus performance should be published shortly . |
