The value of the bus depot in Chelverton must be worth millions as a development site to whoever owns it whether it's Arriva or not. Therefore this could offset the cost of moving somewhere else? If we could come up with a suggestion of where the bus garage could be moved to perhaps that might help. Somewhere off the A3 ..... It would help if the 74 bus didn't need to come through Putney High Street but stopped at Putney Bridge Station but I suppose there's no space there. Meanwhile, although I have no facts to support it, I would be very surprised if aircraft over Putney didn't contribute considerably to pollution. When I am in Paris there are fewer buses and no planes and the city appears cleaner as a result. |
