So there was a bus idling opposite the Putney overground on Saturday. The driver was standing in the bus doorway and not in his cab. I saw a bus conductor walking down the road and pointed out that the driver should have his engine off. He replied that they didn't have to as long as the driver was with the bus. There is absolutely zero benefit to the no idling rule as far as I can make out. It's a great rebuttal headline for TFL but where is the substance? |
