| And we need the proper evidence that the bus retrofit technique is delivering what it was supposed to as well as reassurance that the number of cleaner buses used on the Putney routes is on track. If the buses are good and we still have the issue, where is the NO2 coming from ? At the combined public Camden and Islington Air Quality Summit last night, one speaker made the throwaway remark regarding Putney High Street : "it's really death alley". There were also calls from Council leaders to get together to form a delegation to ask Boris for more ambitious measures in London - permitting taxi drivers to choose cleaner petrol vehicles and lobbying central government to remove the incentives for people and companies to buy diesels were popular. |
