Yes, good news but why 2020? Why not 2014? The reason apparently is that it would be unfair on anyone who has just bought a new diesel car. I am not sure the cumulative health costs of poor air quality are being taken quite enough into account. The facts about diesel engine pollution have been widely recognised for some time now and rolling back the taxation advantages of diesels has not even got on to the government's agenda.
