| I walked up the high street at about 8:20pm this eve. On Chelverton road (at the junction with the high street) there were four buses parked on the left side, not indicating to turn into the garage, just sitting there, engines running..... the stench was awful. Further up, both sections of the taxi rank had most taxis with their engines idling (admittedly I have more sympathy on a cold night) again, stench was awful. It seems to me there are some fairly basic educational things that could be done to help out. The traffic on the high street wasn't that bad but I bet with the above two factors the pollution level was very high. As I could hear the bus engines rattling I guess none of them were the 'electric until they start moving' variety. |
