London city pollution depends a lot on the weather. Rather like the sewers, we rely on a steady flow of fluid to take our waste away from us. Fortunately this year we have had generally a good flow of west winds from the Atlantic bringing cleanish air (and rain) from the Atlantic. However, were we to get a nice settled period with a high above northern France, then our murk would circulate with that of Holland and Germany and we would be in trouble. LEZ3 will be helping matters - but the government and Boris have a long way to go yet to put in place a mechanism to ensure that London gets healthy air. |
