John - sorry to bang on, but you have to remember it's the Government (previous and current) who have told us to take the tunnel solution forward. We can't do this without ministers'say so. We are a regulated business. By the way, here's what we told the Richmond and Twickenham Times today who asked for our response to response to Boris' comments: "It's really important for us to listen to everybody's views, including the Mayor's. "The need for the scheme has all-party support, but the tricky bit is finding sites. There are no easy options. "Our first phase of public consultation was the start, not the end, of a dialogue with potentially affected communities. "We have not yet made any decisions on where the sites need to be and remain open to amending our original proposals, where possible. "Our recently announced re-consideration of Carnwath Road Riverside in Fulham as an alternative to using Barn Elms demonstates our commitment to a thorough and open consultation process." |
