Justine Greening has sent out a letter about her meeting at St Marys on 9 December and states it is before the end of the consultation period... I thought we only had until 4 December to comment on the suitability of the works after which the consultation period ends? I have still seen little evidence of any protest in the river roads; the stop the shaft documents do not seem to extend much beyond Festing Road. We need a lot more time to organise. I can believe this council had an employee who recommended Barn Elms, it would go some way towards explaining their quite extraordinary lack of response towards our concerns until of course the last minute before the deadline, and unless an extension is gained it really is going to be too late. Well done to everyone who has done something positive on this. those who did research backed up what others yelled about and still others actually organised petitions etc. It should be just the beginning, I hope we can keep up the pressure to resist unthinking giant infrastructure project that just may not be very well thought out. |
