Is not a solution to this problem at hand ? I read in the current PutneySW15.com bulletin that Cllr. Lister has met with David Cameron and that the Government is proposing a new Planning Bill providing greater local powers over planning applications. QUOTE "Planning. The Bill would replace the Infrastructure Planning Commission with a democratically accountable system for major infrastructure. Regional planning would be removed and neighbourhood plans created where communities have the power to grant planning permission if a local majority is in favour". END QUOTE. Surely this means that if enough people object, Wandsworth Council will have the mandate to stop any tunnelling work taking place in Putney. |
