I tried to comment on the thamestunnel site. Spent ages and made several attempts to decipher the distorted letters to gain access to the website. After all that, I was unable to leave my comments. As I am not a civil engineer, I can't evaluate the merits of different sites which they seem to want you to do in their pre-arranged questionnaire so I left these sections blank. I do want to say that traffic congestion in Putney is already considerable and this will inevitably make it worse, and that seven years is way too long to be subjected to this sort of disruption. As I didn't complete the first questions, it wouldn't let me make these points on the website, so I'll have to send a letter. When I was on a bus going over Putney Bridge on Friday I took a look at the river bank on the Putney side. To me it just looks very slight and narrow. Can it really be suitable for such a major project? |
