| To those who are concerned about the tunnel plans, an online petition as part of the action group has been set up here: http://www.gopetition.com/petition/40513.html There will also be a Facebook page (“StoptheShaft Putney&Barnes”) where we will try to collate all updates regarding the consultation and meetings from community groups. I would ask anyone who wants to supply information or updates to post on the Facebook page or offer support for the activities to oppose the plans, should send emails to: tunnel.putney@gmail.com. Physical petitions will also be posted over the coming days for residents to sign and leaflets/posters will be delivered to homes and local businesses. Just to confirm, this group is not against the Thames Tunnel, but the proposed location of the Main Shaft at Barn Elms. We believe there are alternative sites which offer less impact to our community, wildlife & quality of life! |
