| I do wish that we could stop demonising Thames Water by using words like "fight" in connection with the Tunnel. Unless there is some sort of turn-around and the Government and the EU decide that the Tunnel is not needed after all, it will happen in some form or other. We should be working in collaboration with TW to try to identify possible brownfield sites. This will not be easy as most brownfield sites up and down the river are much more lucrative to Councils if they are developed for residential projects - cf Tideway Walk which was at one point suggested as an alternative to Barn Elms. Take a boat down the river and you can see what is happening. |
