| Dave, I didn't say Leaders Gardens was fairer, only that there are a lot of people living within probably 100 yards from the proposed Barn Elms site, but because we are not high visibility it seems we are not considered. Like you, I would be most surprised if there had been a proposal to site the digging near upmarket and expensive properties. I am mainly concerned about noise and dirt, not the view. And possibly a smell as they will be leaving a large ventilation shaft there. The work will be going on from 8am to 6pm each day and Saturday mornings. Also, they are taking the earth away by river, but the road traffic will be going on to Rocks Lane which is very busy at times. Remember this construction will be going on for 7 years! Leaders Gardens is on the Barn Elms leaflet and is a second choice after Barn Elms. If I have understood properly, their favoured site is nowhere near Putney. |
