I don't work for Thames water and don't know anyone who does. I'm sorry to appear critical of some fellow residents but I feel of lot of the comments here are what has been termed NIMBY. Has anyone any evidence to doubt the future requirement that's brought about the plan for this tunnel ? Can anyone suggest a better way to move the same amount of waste across London or deal with it in some other way ? Maybe I'm just resigned to the no pain no gain view of progress. I'd be sad to see Leaders Gardens closed as my Boy loves playing there (about once a week). But we could walk a little more and cross the Bridge and go to Fulham Palace Gardens. I'm not trying to antagonize anyone with these comments but I think we need to take a balanced view. To improve London for our future there will be some disruption. The disruption will vary from month to month and by location. The amount of the disruption can be minimized but finding a way to minimize it without it costing billions more (that we'll have to foot the bill for) is the key. This needs some creative thinking. Maybe we should also consider ourselves lucky an Olympic village isn't being built here.. |
