I'm not sure that continually trying to push this project back onto Hammersmith is not retrogressive. If it was moved here after only 2,000 signatures we could surely do the same. There are a lot of Mark Derrys who use the area once a week and dont see it as a big problem, but like Bunny I am a resident and feel exposed to big business interests with only a deathly silence from the direction of our councillors. A hung out to dry feeling. Tim has mentioned on this forum that this tunnel is not going to benefit Barn Elms and our local river stretch so why should we suffer 70% more disruption than those parts of London which WILL benefit. We are not a saintly society and we stand to lose out big time every time we seek peace and quiet, leisure or try to travel or have friends visit us. We are going to be paying our share for a project for the greater good, we dont need to live with it too and that is fair not nimby. Incidentally, according to the charts of the river on the embankment the deep water channel is over Fulham side. I dont have a boat but are the charts wrong? |
