I agree with you, it would be much better on a brownfield site. However, the sewer they are proposing to fix exits into the Thames at Barn Elms. Therefore the choices are limited. It's either the green fields, Leaders gardens, the Sea Scouts or the river foreshore. Given those choices, I would pick the fields. If *none* of these are acceptable, then it calls into question the tunnel scheme as a whole, but that's a very different argument to what is being campaigned against on the forum here. Personally, I think the campaign should be highly targeted in order to achieve it's goal. All I see at the moment is confusion and lack of clarity as to what people want. It will do no good if we stand up to TW and say "you're lying about what the finished buildings will look like", becasue they will simply refer you to planning regs and the council will have to side with them. |
