Thanks Nick, it's good to see Thames Water are keeping an eye on our local forum and using this to engage with us. I think we're aware of the Mogden upgrade but no-one yet has been able to really clarify what the inceased capacity will mean in terms of the current stats. I have some questions that I'm yet to get answered by anyone. Can you clarify "exceptional". Can you also clarify if the increased capacity at Mogden reduces the burden on the current system ie. if we have increased capacity at the end of the line with more rapid processing at the STW, the current system would be less likely to always be partially full for instance? I understand that there is a maximum bandwidth as it were for the sewer network and so in a "flash flood" type situation it's unlikely to make a difference but, but if sewage has to go to the STW and the STW is already at capacity, then I imagine there is increased liklihood of CSO overflow during smaller rainfall occurence? Can you also clarify what volumes of raw sewage have been deposited into the Thames from Mogden annually over the last 10 years? I'm particularly interested in the years that were used for the CSO figures quoted in the needs report for the Thames Tunnel. Thanks again for taking the time to comment on this thread and share Thames Water's insight. |
