Don't get taken in by the red herring of the Jetty. It is never going to be built, BECAUSE IT CAN'T BE BUILT IN THIS LOCATION This is exactly what Thames Water want; a load of difficulties over the Jetty, so that eventually they don't can't actually build it despite promising to make river transport a "priority". Road transport of materials and waste is far cheaper and easier for them, and they really have no care for the gridlock, noise and pollution caused in Putney for the next 7 years. And one other thing...aren't the artist's impression of the finished site lovely? I think we should DEMAND that Thames Water should publish an artist' impression of the works under construction, and perhaps some drawings of the traffic gridlock? Then the full HORROR of a massive quarry site and resulting chaos may just hit home. |
