I went along today and had a long chat with the people there. I agree with everything said so far, lots of positive spin ... I pointed out (which seemed to surprise them) that there are around 2,000 residents living in Horne Way, from elderly people to little kids, living a few hundred yards from the construction site. I'm getting a bit sick of hearing how awful it will be if Leaders Gardens is affected, or, as I heard today, taking a route past where kids are coming to Barn Elms to play sports. Don't agree with the site being there either but ... What about all the people living in Horne Way?? 'Scuse me for being paranoid, but if this wasn't a council estate, would it be so easy to put the site here? Less clout and less problems? Incidentally, I asked one the guys at the Putney Exchange about the Hammersmith petition and 2,000 signatures and they said they had heard about it, but it wasn't true ...any comments? |
