Regarding the wharf. It is supposed to be Putney side opposite Fulham Football Club. The deep water channel is the Putney side. The wharf can easily be built in the deep water channel but it will block navigation and become a death trap to the rowers. As a result they probably won't build it but will say they will to appease those worried about increased traffic levels. As a result Putney and surrounding roads will be clogged with construction trafiic 24/7 for seven long years. Think the traffic is bad now? Just wait to see what it will become. It really is a nightmare scenario. The answer to all of this is Hammersmith or another brownfield riverside location. The old wharves on the Hammersmith side have been there for centuries and its not difficult to revive them for this project. Thames Water will say that that's not where the tunnel will run. Well there's an easy answer to that... amend the route of the tunnel, after all it Thames Water who will be building it. Please spread the word about this impending disaster looming |
