| @ Jane The 1871 Act does not need to be revised to protect the commons. The Act was extremely well drafted and is perfectly capable of protecting the commons What is needed is Conservtors who are prepared to uphold the Act which is their legal duty. The Conservators have failed to do so, particularly when there is few bob in for them. The Royal Wimbledon Golf Club is great example, their car park on 100% common land is now 100% their private car park. The land opposite the Spencer now the Private Road for the school and apartments. Little by little the commons get eroded, because the Conservator care more about their mates than doing their job. |
