| @ Alex The WPCC have granted a pub an exclusive agreement to place benches on the common in return for rent. They simply haven’t told anyone, which is how they operate. You seem to agree that you would object to exclusivity, but not to benches which are not exclusive. Both pay rent, both are for the benefit of the pub, both have commercial agreements, both ignore the act. Planning permission is needed as the council regard the benches as a beer garden and insisted that planning consent is needed. If it is not a beer garden, and just a bunch of benches, why is planning permission needed? Planning permission cannot overlook the 1871 Act which is LAW. To do so will be unlawful. |
