| @ Gordon There were 1,200 objections to the proposed school across the road. I didn’t love the hospital and I am vanilla on the school, although it is in the wrong location and was only built by Wandsworth as they got the land on the cheap, in a cosy deal, to bale the WPCT out of their self inflicted black hole. My concerns on the school were not with Wandsworth, (although they did behave appallingly, getting their own planning officers to lie during the planning process) but with the WPCC. The trustees of the WPCC / Simon Lee (the WPCC’s CEO) lied to levy payers, ignored the instructions of the Charity Commission, ignored the advice of their surveyor and broke the law on an industrial scale. Having done so, the trustees / Simon Lee then lied to the levy payers and to the Charity Commission in an attempt to cover up their very deliberate actions to sell the access on the cheap to Wandsworth. This was then compounded by Lee and various trustees from the last board, led by the Whitehall cronies, colluding with lawyers and valuers to kick the undersale into touch. More lies to the Charity Commission by Lee to the Charity Commission triggering a Statutory Inquiry into misconduct and mismanagement which is ongoing. As a trustee I, with Nick Evans and Shirley Gillbe, were bullied and intimidated by the WPCC board / Lee in order to force us to join their collusion. Trustees gerrymandered the Daniel Watney valuation, (now shredded, a ‘poor’ use of £40,000) and lawyers were paid a huge bonus for a job well done. Trustees and lawyers failed to disclose material conflicts of interest, Lee removed important incriminating evidence from files, substantial and unauthorised payments were made to lawyers without board approval or explanation. You get the picture. In terms of the Spencer’s beer garden the benches are in breach of the 1871 Act which is LAW. And the trustees and WBC as LPA are obliged to uphold the act. I suggest you read the objection on the WBC website from a neighbour of the Spencer, who points out that the neighbours are now having to tolerate the success of the benches, the noise and litter and not least the danger of numerous trips from the Spencer delivering drink and food across the road to the common. So, not contrarian. Simply a trustee doing the job I was elected to do. You ask if there is anything which I am in favour of. And the answer is yes, I’m in favour of trustees acting honestly and transparently and not choosing to ignore the founding legislation of the charity which they are legally obliged to enforce. |
