| Interesting to see how innovative residents have managed to use the common without the benches. Yesterday evening numerous families were enjoying the sunshine, with their children, and SITTING ON THE GRASS. No benches, common used as it should be, the families seemed happy enough. There is no need for commercial beer gardens, nor for the increasing commercial use by businesses. Commercial summer camps for children are now advertised on the web on both Putney and Wimbledon Commons, in addition to the commercial nursery’s which the WPCC have contracted with. The commons are not asset to exploited commercially for profit. Residents can expect more of the same as Simon Lee pursues his “property plc” strategy, while ignoring the 1871 Act that created this valuable space. |
