| @ Craig It is an Act of Parliament which keeps the commons natural and from being alienated, encroached and so on. The commons are not protected by pragmatism, they are defended by a well defined, precise set of laws which are not open to interpretation to be bent to an individual or selfish requirement. You don't need to care about the commercial activities which alienate the common and turn it into a beer garden. You are not a trustee. The 1871 Act is clear as to why the commons were created and how they will be protected. To state that 'we' can simply bar anybody makes no sense. |
