This "Starmer lied" stuff is typically, and characteristically, so much overstated hogwash: I don't believe he's lied for a moment. Anyway, there are rather more realistic charges that can be laid at his door. Sacking an underling for a mistake that he should really have accepted responsibility for himself is not a good look, but the more serious mistake was to appoint the notoriously dodgy Mandelson in the first place. Whether it's enough for him to lose his job, with the inevitable semi chaos that would ensue, is a more difficult question... |
