'Olly Robbins friends are now saying that he was prevented by law from revealing to the PM that Peter Mandelsom had failed his security vetting. And it appears that the Cabinet Secretary is also rying to invoke the same excuse to explain why she didn't inform the PM when she found out two weeks ago about the decision to overrule the vetting committee's decision.

I simply don't believe that there is a law preventing civil servants from telling the Prime Minister the truth about a matter on which he has made an incorrect statement to Parliament'.

Well Starmer is a lawyer and so he can quote what this law says, when it was formally imbedded in our legal and governmental systems and where we can all read it.

This is of course all nonsense dished out by Whitehall and Number 10 to confuse the voting public and obfuscate the issue.

Which is that Starmer is simply totally unsuited, unqualified and too untrustworthy to be PM and lead the country.

The statements made imply that neither formally in Ministerial meetings or informally in the clubs of Pall Mall Civil Servants do not offer opinion to Ministers.

But surely that is their job for God's sake !

However Ministers are big boys or girls and don't have to take any notice of what is said to them.

"Civil Servants advise; Ministers decide" is I believe the way our 'constitution' works.
