| Suzanne, Can I put this in another way? If Lambeth thinks that the best way to run Council services is to hand them all over to co-operatives (and I am not saying that they do but if) and Wandsworth thinks the best way is to privatise everything to the highest bidder then they are not going to agree about how to run a merged service. Westminster, Ken & Chelsea, Ham & Fulham are said to be merging their services to save costs but just let's wait and see what the impact will be when the nature of Soho, or the population of Chiswick apply political pressure on their councillors to sweep the streets more or less regularly. Then we will see just how easily this works out. |
