| I don't pretend I have an answer to these questions. I can only repeat that Israel is involved in a life or death struggle with a fanatical terrorist organisation across its border whose avowed aim is to exterminate its Jewish population. What should be Israel's response? When this country was faced by the Nazis (who did not threaten to exterminate the entire British population), I don't think there were many voices calling for a ceasefire in order to avoid further German casualties. |
