Mr Rose Re Labour Darren Jones MP saying - "he represents constituents ‘who have different concerns and opinions about this issue". You ask 'Are we to assume that his constituents are in favour of antisemitism'? Absolutely we are right to assume some of them are and to assume so are most of those who have taken up with the fashionable cause of supporting Palistinianism. What we don't know is Jones' own attitude to Israel and antisemitism. He is probably yet another who equates the defensive actions of Israel with the aggressive ones of certain Palestinians led by the proscribed terrorist group Hamas. Obviously this Labour MP has no views of his own and will support antisemitism if it wins him votes. He has forgotten what Parliamentarian Edmund Burke said about not being a delegate of the electorate but acting on what he thought to be right. 1)"If, from this conduct, I shall forfeit their suffrages at an ensuing election, it will stand on record an example to future representatives of the Commons of England, that one man at least had dared to resist the desires of his constituents when his judgment assured him they were wrong". 2)"Your representative owes you, not his industry only, but his judgment; and he betrays instead of serving you if he sacrifices it to your opinion". He also made it clear that if they did not agree they could vote him out ! |
