| Then someone should be. As volunteers working for a locally-funded charity set up to protect a valuable local amenity, you would think the Conservators would be prepared to behave like public servants, with amongst their many responsibilities, the duty to be seen to be accountable to voters/funders/users on each of their decisions and actions, particularly any that are controversial or questionable. There is sufficient local interest on this for the Conservators to recognise the need to provide comprehensive replies to all the issues recently raised, here and anywhere else. And without any further delay. Their silence simply fuels the sense many are getting that they've got things to hide. Sorry, but the WPCC is not GCHQ, the CIA or any other organisation that it could be argued needs security and secrecy to operate effectively. This is a local charity for goodness sake, protecting and managing the Common, not in charge of national security! For goodness sake, start answering the questions and prove you're above board! |
