@ Jonty Your attempt to bring this to a close by accusing Deloitte of fraud isn't funny, it's pathetic. No one has ever suggested there is criminal fraud. What is suggested is that the Conservators, by choosing to sell the school access for £1 to their mates at the Council, shortchanged the Charity by a substantial amount. That's not fraud, it is a breach of the fiduciary duties of the Trustees to the Charity. The Trustees must only act in the interests of the charity, ensure they are informed and ignore irrelevant factors. They didn't act in the interest of the Charity, they acted in the interest of Wandsworth. Devons had lied repeatedly about what went on, he lied about the sham agreements, he lied about not knowing the polyclinic was dead, he lied about ransom strips and lied about Stag Lane. The Conservators are meant to defend the common, but they cosied up to Wandsworth and acted in concert; they went to court to ensure the site was developed. They boast about resisting encroachment and go to court to do the reverse, to fight for it. Really? Their role is to defend the common, not sell it off. The Conservators must publish in full the valuation, the legal advice, the board papers and subsequent board approval for the sale. Their current stance is they refuse to do so. They said last week they had published the minutes of the Putney Hospital subcommittee on their website. More spin and mirrors, as it now transpires they have kept numerous minutes back, at the request of Wandsworth, quoting FOI regulations. You will recall they say they don't fall under FOI. So which is it FOI or no FOI, they cannot have it both ways. Their position is untenable. They either publish and let residents decide, or should stand aside now. They Conservators behaviour is now a joke. They are a disgrace, not just for ******* the common, but their arrogance by ignoring public distrust in their governance. |
