| I have discussed the on-going problem of cycling on the Upper Richmond Road with the police (see the alternative thread on the subject.) They advise me that for the past week they have been heavily involved in combatting annual fireworks/anti-social problems associated with Halloween/Guy Fawkes. These are now behind them and they assure me that they will once again be taking action against pavement cyclists on this stretch. As to the early working on Sunday I cannot be sure but wonder whether the contractors were ensuring that noisy work would be completed before the Royal British Legion march along the Upper Richmond Road after their Service of Remembrance. I was on the saluting 'dias' outside the County Court (close to where you live) and all was silence as the march-past took place. I shall however make enquiries of TfL who are monitoring the work.
