| Still finding cyclists riding along the pavement on the westbound URR. This morning at 7.30 we were woken up by the sound of heavy metal plates being shifted and dropped by a digger. When we enquired of the site manager why they had made so much noise so early the response was "we did not start until 9"!!!!!! Did some joker come along at 7.30 with a digger just to annoy the locals and then disappear without the workmen noticing? Surprisingly enough they seemed to have completed the work they needed to do in time to have deserted the site by 10.30. Could it be that they started early and decided to ignore the rules in order to leave earlier as waiting till 10 would have been a serious nuisance? Not only that but just to make sure they did not get in trouble just lie about it! The rules are clear, whilst work can start at 7am, noisy works should not start until 10am on a sunday. The work has to be done and we endure the racket during the week and the inconvenience of the diversions without whinging but sundays at 7.30am we have to draw the line. |
