| This is published in the Council's roadworks bulletin this week. Upper Richmond Road - Gas mains replacement works begin Monday 21st September and are expected to be completed by 4th December. Works begin from the junction of Putney Hill/Putney High Street through to East Putney station. One way traffic flow west-east will be accommodated between the locations mentioned above. West bound traffic will be diverted via West Hill and Tibbetts roundabout. Local diversions will be signposted throughout the area. Upper Richmond Rd is a TFL road and Tfl has appointed Morrison Utilities 020 8684 5600 to do the work. They will close one half of the road and cut a trench to replace the old gas mains. The work is essential because the old pipes are leaking. The west to east traffic will be able to drive down Upper Richmond Road towards E Putney station on the "good" side of the road. The east to west traffic (on the excavated side) will go up Portinscale Rd to West Hill to Tibbets corner and back down Putney Hill. It will also be possible to go via Putney Bridge Rd west along Lower Richmond Road. The Council's highways engineers have all the details and can be reached on 8871 6542/6904. |
