| The forthcoming public meeting on the proposed closure of two Putney post offices, at St Mary's Church, will give Councillor Edward Lister an opportunity to inform us of his fellow Conservative council leader, Lord Hanningfield's, ideas for saving threatened post offices in Essex. I imagine that Councillor Lister will have been briefed on the Essex suggestions. If it is possible to prevent the closure of local post offices by some very modest contribution from Council Tax resources, then, if we had the details of the proposal, we could consider whether or not it seems a reasonable suggestion to follow up. |
